This hauntingly beautiful Iris has slate violet standards and falls with tan orange beards. Each plant produces many stalks and flowers have a pronounced spicy fragrance. Established plants are tolerant of dry conditions, but it really doesn't wet, swampy soils. Plant with the rhizome exposed.
